Leisure Tyme Adopts Bear Search and Rescue Foundation as Its "Worthy Cause" for 2005

LeisureTyme.net, LLC announced today that its' primary "worthy cause" for 2005 will be The Bear Search and Rescue Foundation, established to raise money for search and rescue teams across the country in 2002 . The mission of the Foundation is to provide instruction in Emergency Management to Search and Rescue (SAR) Teams; equip SAR teams around the country; provide free air transportation to active missions and training where possible and to provide health care to all SAR K-9s that worked at Ground Zero and the Pentagon.

Mahopac, NY (PRWEB) January 19, 2005 -- Bear (an 11 year old Golden Retriever) and his dad, Captain Scott Shields, led the first search teams at Ground Zero on September 11, 2001. Bear was credited with finding the most victims and the only live finds by a dog at the WTC. He found FDNY Chief Peter Ganci and Fire Commissioner William Feehan. Each year, in September, Bear is honored at the "Bear Search and Rescue Service Dog Day" held at the Intrepid Se-Air-Space Museum in NYC.

LeisureTyme is and will continue to discuss feasible fundraising efforts and events with business owners and community leaders and members throughout the NY Tri-State area. Details of the first event (which will probably take place during the coming months in Mahopac, NY) will be announced as soon as they are available, followed by announcements of other fundraising events in the Hudson Valley, City Island and the Jersey and Connecticut Shores.
